Bournemouth Town Hall Dorset

Bournemouth Town Hall Dorset is a civil wedding venue that has 2 ceremony rooms. The Willows registry office is the biggest of the two and it had plenty of light inside. There is plenty of parking nearby and disabled access too. It is situated in the centre of bournemouth so has lots of hotels, bars, and restauarants nearby should you require somewhere for your reception afterwards. Being in Dorset you are spoilt for choice and it is also possible to go to the sea front for wedding photgraphs should you so wish. The most popular location for photographs is the Gardens nearby.

Kingston Maurward Dorchester Wedding Photography – Sneak peek – Dan and Becky

This weekend saw me back at Kingston Maurward near Dorchester photographing the wedding of Dan and Rebecca. On a wet sunday the weather couldn’t dampen the spirits of Dan or Becky on their wedding. We even had a guest joining us via the internet all the way from New Zealand! Becky had brought some special wellies so that we could go for a walk in the gardens in case of wet weather (though we stayed dry all day).

Cumberland Hotel Wedding Photographer

The Hotel du Vin, Lytchett Minster Church, Durley Chine and the Cumberland Hotel were the quadruple locations at Leonie and Marcs wedding this Saturday. The weather even was gorgeous at just the right time, and of course being the jubilee we saw plenty of union jacks and happy people. No-one was happier than Leonie and Marc of course. It was a real pleasure to be involved with their wedding and here’s a sneak peek from the beach 🙂 See you when you get back 🙂

Panasonic GX1 – Violet and Joseph at play

I recently got a Panasonic GX1 – the idea behind this is to have a high quality photographic tool available wherever I am but without lugging a dSLR around with me. All whilst capturing my children at Play.
It was Josephs 4th Birthday this week (We went to the tank museum near bovington). The Panasonic GX1 is a micro four thirds camera (micro 4/3rds), the means its much smaller than a traditional dSLR. Whilst the quality is still brilliant. In fact I could see this being a great little candid camera at weddings or for street photography where you want to remain a bit more inconspicuous.

So Today I took Violet and Joseph to the park for some play and also to give the Panasonic gx1 a bit of a mini workout. You can use face-detection – where you tell it the faces you want to focus on. The Panasonic takes it further in that you can register favourite faces. So I registered their faces, then sure enough in this mode it focuses on their faces and tells me their name (in case I should forget :)).

Lens wise I chose the highly regarded Panasonic 25/1.4 lens. This is the equivalent of a 50/1.4 or standard lens on a 35mm of full frame digital SLR. This gives me the best image quality and the ability to isolate the subject from the background a little bit. With the wonderful weather we’ve been having I used the sun to create some portraits of my children. I love them at play – so carefree and fun. Take a look and let me know your thoughts!

Green House Hotel Bournemouth Wedding – Open Day

The Green House Hotel in Bournemouth recently held a Wedding Open day where they invited couples to come and be shown around their rather splendid venue and got to taste some of the food on offer for their wedding. The Green House Hotel is an Eco friendly boutique hotel based in Bournemouth and I was lucky enough to be asked to take photographs for them to document the day. Many Thanks to Andy Rapkins for letting me cover this on his behalf due to him moving house 🙂 Thanks Andy.

The wedding ceremony can take part in 2 places at the Green House Hotel, upstairs for smaller ceremonies and downstairs for larger ceremonies.

The wedding breakfast takes place in the restaurant naturally 🙂 There is a real live olive tree which looks great in the corner of the room. You can see the staffs attention to detail in the place settings and Table Menu’s.

So if you’re looking for a Green, Eco, and natural wedding where everything and anything is environmentally friendly. Then come to the Green House Hotel in Bournemouth.

I’ve been to the Green House hotel before about a year ago and what also impressed me was how great everything still looks. I can tell that this is a wedding venue where everyone will be looked after. In this age where lots of waste is often seen a great environmental policy is also to be applauded.
