I met up with Kayleigh and Christ as the Studio recently near Christmas – they’d just come from talking about their wedding at Lulworth Castle, Dorset and not Kingston Maurward as has been previously mentioned elsewhere in the blog :). We went for a lovely walk in the sunshine in Blandford. For those that don’t know Blandford Forum, it’s an old Georgian town so has some great architecture and places to do engagement shoots.

Bath Wedding Photographer – St Michaels Church – Caroline and Neil

A Lovely Christmas wedding at St Michaels Church near Bath with Caroline and Neil. Even the rain couldn’t dampen a lovely ceremony at St Michaels Church in Bath. I drove up from Dorset to meet at the Church with Neil in full uniform looking most handsome. Then shortly after that Caroline turned up (early!). It was a lovely service and due to the weather we did all the formal photographs and bride and groom portraits inside the lovely church.

Limewood House Hotel, New forest Hampshire

Limewood House Hotel is a luxurious spa hotel based in the New Forest in Hampshire near the Dorset Border. The grounds are superb and it is available for exclusive weddings if you’d like somewhere with a touch of class and some luxury for your wedding. There is ample parking and the staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Tudor Grange Bournemouth Wedding Photographer – Lee and Katy

Tudor Grange in Bournemouth was my first port of Call on Lee and Katy’s Wedding day. I’d done their engagement photoshoot near the studio in Blandford and was really looking forward to photographing there wedding especially as we were going to get a chance to go down to Bournemouth beach after the ceremony for some photographs. I met up with Lee and the Tudor Grange where he was getting ready with he entourage of ushers, best men and his Family. This is where I met his two wonderful grans (one a keen photographer who was great fun throughout the day). We did a few photographs here before heading to St Thomas More Church in Bournemouth.

The father at the church was brilliant so welcoming and it would be brilliant if everyone was so awesome 🙂 Lee was looking a little nervous and it was a very hot day – but soon Katy arrived looking beautiful in her gorgeous dress. The ceremony was brilliant, with some great readings and a lovely service. After the Service we went to Bournemouth beach for some more photographs. I love Bournemouth Beach and it also gave Lee and Katy chance to get some time on their own before we headed back to Tudor Grange Hotel. We sat in deckchairs, went for a lovely walk on the beach and on the Pier. A great day.

Back at Tudor Grange Hotel it was reception drinks and a few formal photographs. Everyone was lovely, relaxed and having a great time. A proper fun summertime wedding! The staff at Tudor Grange were so helpful too, well recommended. The grounds at the tudor grange are lovely too with there being lots of room for guests to move around and chat. Inside is lovely too – lots of oak panels and rich tudor colours. The food looked amazing. After the meal it was time for the speeches and these were some of the best speeches I’ve ever had the pleasure to hear ever. They included a great poem written by the resident poet. Before I knew it then it was time for the First Dance. Lee and Katy had some coaching from some friends and it paid off!

What a wonderful day and what a wonderful wedding!

Poole Guildhall Wedding Photographer – Vicky and Andy

Poole Guildhall was where I was this 1st December assisting Tim for a Christmas wedding. Wedding Photography at the Guildhall in Poole is brilliant as there is so much light from the windows. Even in winter there is oodles of light for photographers. After my morning bacon sandwich I was at the Angel Tavern. The Angel Tavern is opposite the Guildhall in Poole. It was here that I met Andy the groom for today. After a few candid images of him preparing himself it was off to the inside of the Guildhall where I saw the familiar Staff there (they are lovely and accommodation and it’s always a pleasure to photograph a wedding there.

There wedding ceremony was lovely. A string ensemble playing to Vicky being walked down the aisle with her father. There some truly special moments captured forever there! After the great wedding ceremony (which was even more special because of the Christmas tree). It was then Tim’s pleasure to capture all the family photographs and group formal photographs. I like being able to capture the moments between people as this is happening. This fits my reportage style of wedding photography very well and is one of the reasons me and Tim work together so well. After the formals it was a short walk to the quay to take some portraits of Vicky and Andy. Poole Quay is great for portraits, there’s the anchor and some lovely backdrops to the photographs. The sun-seeker offices are here and there are some lovely pillars too. The weather was cold but clear so in the sun was lovely and warm though I did have a hat on to keep warm.

After the wedding portraits we went off to the antelope for the wedding reception. The staff were very welcoming and had done a great job with the room. The Antelope was very festively decorated inside with lots of Christmas trees, sparkly lights and tinsel and holly. It’s the first time I’ve been in the Antelope but it won’t be the last. After the wedding breakfast it was time for the speeches. The speeches although short, included a presentation by iPad, and a short raffle and speak by Vicky the bride! A brilliant day all round.

Finally we left the Antelope to head to the Blue Boar for the evening reception and for the party to start proper!
