Hotel Du Vin Wedding Photographer – Andrea and Damian

I was at the Hotel Du Vin to assist Alex Beckett and help photograph the wedding of Andrea and Damian. Alex was great to work with and I loved being able to help him on the day. I started off covering the Groom preparations with Damian at the Bankes Arms in Studland. Whilst Alex stayed with the bride Andrea at the Hotel Du Vin (where we’d be back for the wedding reception later). There wedding itself was held at the lovely St Nicholas Church next door to the Bankes Arms. Despite this very much being a winter wedding, I think the weather was good. It was cold of course as you’d expect at the start of January but not too bad.
After a Lovely service at St Nicholas Church is was a quick stop at the beach for some portraits where I held the light for Alex to get his portraits.
After this it was back to the Hotel Du Vin for the rest of the reception. Alex and Myself were treated to some amazing food, many thanks to Andrea and Damian for sorting this out.
There was also an ex Olympic gymnast at the reception who later showed us some backflips. The speeches were very emotional and I loved being able to get some great reactions of the guests for Alex. Then it was time for the first dance and I think it is fair to say that the two children did a class act of upstaging the first dance with their own moves!

The Bankes arms in Studland Dorset is a great place for a groom to stay the night before his wedding day. It’s right next to St Nicholas Church. The Staff are very friendly and will look after you well.

St Nicholas Church Studland Dorset

St Nicholas Church Studland Dorset is a lovely rural church situation in Studland Dorset. The Church is many centuries old and has a lot of room inside for many guests even though it looks small from the outside. Studland is right by the sea and is close to places such as Poole and Bournemouth should you wish to have your reception nearby too.

Rhinefield House Hotel Hampshire Wedding Photographer – Sophie and Alex

An awesome winter wedding at Rhinefield House Hotel in Hampshire. There are so many locations to do the wedding photography that you’re truly spoiled for choice. The Wedding was my first of the year and I was once again assisting the epic tim churchill – I love working for Tim as I get to really hone my documentary wedding photography skills whilst Tim does the Formal Group shots. As a bonus I often get Bacon which is my favourite food. Especially in the form of a hot roast 🙂 Anyway back to the wedding.

I met Alex at St Laurence church in Downton, Salisbury where I took a few shots of him nervously waiting. Then before I knew it Tim and the beautiful bride Sophie arrived! She looked awesome as she came up the church path with her father. After a beautiful service it was time to head over to Rhinefield house hotel for the wedding reception, but, not before stopping off at a secret location near Burley ( and Burley Manor Hotel ) for some bride and groom portraits. I managed to grab a couple of awesome portraits of Sophie and Alex and the light was amazing as they drove away to Rhinefield house hotel.

The wedding reception was indoors as it was starting to get a little cold by now (it was January after all!). So there was plenty of time to get some reportage and candid wedding photography images inside. After a lovely meal we then captured the great and very funny speeches before it was time for the First dance and the night was over!

Highfield Church, Southampton Hampshire

Highfield Church, Southampton Hampshire

Highfield Church is near Southampton University and is a very traditional and beautiful church inside. I’ve photographed weddings here before – such as the recent wedding of Jemma and Al. The vicar and everyone here is very welcoming. The main purpose of this post is to let you see inside the church before visiting to see if it looks right for you and your wedding.
