Michelle and Rod – Portland Dorset Wedding Photographer

Today saw me attend the wonderfully relaxed and informal wedding of Michelle and Rod who got married at all saints church on portland. This is actually the closest wedding ever with the church being just round the back of my house, I could have filmed the whole wedding from a unmanned aerial vehicle should I have wished! I’d been asked along by Michelle’s son Zach to help get some extra candid images which I love doing. Candid wedding photography is sometimes called reportage or relaxed wedding photography. I love it anyway 🙂 The service involved some amazing music by Weymouth’s very own brass band. It was spectacular to hear!

After a great service it was time for some formal photographs at the church which Zach took care of whilst I found the fun and different photos. Then it was down to the nearby Chesil Cove public house which was the scene of the flooding on Portland earlier this year. There was no such problems today though and after a short while is was off to the masonic lodge for the wedding reception and speeches. There were some top notch speeches by everyone involved and then it was time for the wedding buffet!

Moonfleet Manor Wedding Photographer – Sander and Tina

Moonfleet Manor is a wonderful setting for a wedding and is situated near Weymouth in Dorset with great views of Portland and Chiswell. I was lucky enough to photograph the wedding of Tina and Sander who were over from Holland at this beautiful venue. They had pre-warned me that there were going to be loads of children at their wedding and asked if I was ok with this. Having 2 young children myself I assured them that I love children and it wouldn’t be a problem. It’s a good job they told me as there were actually more children than adults. There was even a childrens wedding disco which was a first for me but great fun and I secretly thing that all the parents actually enjoyed that just as much if not more than the grown up disco. Especially as the childrens wedding disco meant that there were sweets on offer! Tina and Sanders wedding also happened to take place on the Summer solstice though there were no pagans dancing around anywhere that I could see.

Tina and Sander were both so wonderfully welcoming and friendly as were their family and friends it was truly an honour to photograph such a wonderful relaxed wedding. The weather was perfect too with everyone able to sit in the garden and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere and views before the wonderful wedding breakfast from the awesome staff from Moonfleet manor hotel. After the Wedding breakfast it was time for the wonderful disco’s to start including the extra fun childrens wedding disco.

Megan and Chris – Mapperton House Wedding Photography

Megan and Chris – Mapperton House Wedding Photography

Mapperton House and Gardens is a wonderful venue in the Dorset Countryside. I was lucky enough to get to photograph Megan and Chris’s wedding here recently. Both Megan and Chris are amazing, super friendly and massively in love as was evident from their family and friends and the attention to detail that went in throughout the whole day. It was creative, full of humour and generally awesome.. enough about me though lets get back to the wedding photography 🙂 There were more ushers than bridesmaids and even an usher who had 2 roles. I really can’t wait to share more from this wedding when I’ve finished editing photos. In the meantime I’ve included one of the mapperton house and gardens venue, together with a sneak peek from the photographs with Chris and Megan.

Kevin and Lauren – Italian Villa Wedding Photography

I met Kevin and Lauren at the Italian Villa Wedding Fair last year and couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding at such a fab venue. It was great to see them both again and I was made to feel very welcome, after a very fun ceremony (I can’t say too much at this stage but I can say it was rather amusing) it was time to enjoy the beautiful gardens. Despite the weather being less than kind in the run up to the wedding on the day itself (a thursday) then the sunshine came out and everyone was able to enjoy the wonderful british weather. We have been lucky with out weather for weddings this year of course. Before we knew it then it was time to head inside for the wedding breakfast. There were then some superb speeches by everyone including a double act by the best men. Some great speeches guys well done. Thanks for having me along to capture your wedding day – always a pleasure to be part of someones wedding in this way. Any many thanks for offering me food too – that’s always appreciated.
