Hengistbury Head engagement photography

I love Hengistbury head near Christchurch – it’s fabulous.

I’d met Kinga and Vil last year and spoken with them about their wedding. It sounded awesome with some many personal touches. There will be a fusion of Polish and Indian cultures and I can’t wait to get to Parley Manor to photograph it!

Anyway I digress – Hengistbury head – it’s great, beaches, cliffs – the sea – it has a lot of potential for photography. Now we’d been talking about a sunrise engagement shoot. It turns out sunrise was at 5:34am this particular day – so like all good people we comprimised. On 7am 🙂 So it was a 5am start for me to get there on time. (As an aside it’s worth noting that the car park is free parking till 8am so bonus all round).

The weather was great, blue skies and not very many people around. So after a couple of cans of red-bull en-route we had a great laugh 🙂

Kinga and Vil had brought some of the colours for the wedding – they are going to look awesome and amazing!

Larmer Tree Gardens – Wedding – sneak peek

Today I was lucky enough to shoot a wedding with Ben Goode from over Southampton way. We’ve shot together before and I’m always happy to second shoot for people – I love weddings and I love the experience of being part of the day.

So we started off in my Hometown of Blandford forum and I walked from Blandford Studios to the church (Blandford Catholic Church). After a great service here then we went to The Larmer Tree Gardens at Tollard Royal (where I’ve second shot for Ben before as it happens) – once again the weather was most awesome!

Anyway enough rambling… for anyone who’s been there you’ll know all about the peacocks. And thats why my photo today is of the Peacock.

The Social Sirens Tweet Girls Charity Calendar

What’s all this about I hear you cry! (well maybe you don’t but i’m going to tell you anyway 🙂 )

What it’s all about is this, I’m on twitter (@tpphotography for those that are interested) , and i’m on twitter A LOT (over 50,000 tweets as of today). Now I saw a request for photographers to help with a Charity Calendar (hence the post name). I thought to myself Helping charity is good. Why not get involved. So I tweeted (sent a message into cyberspace) that i’d like to get involved. Next thing I knew i’d been selected to be one of 4 photographers – fabulous news!

The plan was to produce a boudoir calendar for 2012 with the charity money being split between Help for Heroes and PC David Rathband’s The Blue Lamp Foundation. Both very worthwhile causes indeed.

Now I mentioned that there were 4 photographers chosen. Why 4? Easy – there were 4 photo shoots planned aiming to use as many people and get as many people as possible involved. The locations were:

* Wallworth Castle, Darlington – Thursday 24th February 2011
* Woodhall Manor, Suffolk – Sunday 27th February 2011
* Langley Priory, Derbyshire – Wednesday 2nd March 2011
* Charlton House, Somerset – Thursday 3rd March 2011

All fabulous locations. Now you’ll notice no Awesome Dorset locaions in that list. Not to worry I have a car and can drive it 🙂
So come the Thursday in march I tricked Ian Hamilton into coming along to help out and up we popped to Charlton House where we were greeted by lots of activity and many people.

Anyway that’s enough description. What happened?
Well I can’t say too much at this stage other than we got some awesome images for the calendar and everyone had a great time!

Hampshire Wedding Photography in Romsey, Silks Hotel Sneak peek – Dan and Sarah

What a fabulous day we had starting off 6 miles out of Romsey at a lovely Country Church with a super cool and relaxed Vicar and some awesome cars (you’ll see more of those when you get back guy) – then onto the Fabulous Silks Hotel in Romsey (the white horse) for the reception and some bride and groom portraits round the corner at the Gardens (funny story about that coming later!)

Anyway here’s a sneak peek for Dan and Sarah taken outside St Johns Church in Lockerley.

Elmers Court Hotel New Forest Hampshire

Elmers Court is a hotel in the New Forest that offers weddings and events. There is plenty of parking and many rooms that you can stay at overnight. The new forest is in Hampshire and nearby to Dorset and the sunshine and seaside.
