Dorset Wedding Photographer in Devon at the Broomhill Art Hotel

Most of my wedding photography takes place in Dorset, but, it’s nice to get out into neighbouring counties. This weekend saw me up in North Devon with Matt Fryer of Matt Fryer Photography. I like second shooting for Matt, he always makes sure i’m well fed and his weddings are always awesome fun! I’m back up working for Matt again this Wednesday this time for some video work. Take a look at Matts preview from the day here (coming soon). I’ll leave you with one of the awesome sculptures from Broomhill Art Hotel.

Newbury Manor Hotel Wedding Photography – Eleanor and Matt in the snow

Newbury Manor Hotel Wedding Photography – Eleanor and Matt in the snow

It’s not often I get to photograph a wedding in the snow, especially not in March! This time I was up at Newbury Manor Hotel after a wonderful service with a very relaxed vicar at st marks church in cold ash. We had planned to go to donnington castle ruins, but, alas with the snow and an old austin we decided that it was perhaps not the best idea!
So we started off with snow and ended up with sunshine! A wedding in the snow highlights the importance of professional photography – backup equipment – ensuring that things aren’t misted up going from warm-to-cold is essential too. I love this first shot in the snow of some guests arriving with typical british chagrin as they arrive smiling in suits.

We then have a wonderful portrait of Matt and Eleanor shot into the sun to show off the wonderful backdrop to their wedding. You’d never guess you were in Newbury just off an A-road! superb (thanks to all the staff and Newbury Manor hotel – you guys rock!).

I’m finishing with 2 images that have a story – the cheeky chap on the left in the first shot took the last shot of the bride and mother (notice the surprised expression). Giving me a run for my money with his composition… maybe in a few years eh?

Anyway enjoy these images and check back for the full wedding in good time. I’m off up to North Devon tomorrow (hopefully not too much snow) to assist my good chum Matt Fryer which is always great fun!.

Of course if you are getting married at Newbury Manor Hotel I would LOVE for you to contact me about your wedding photography (ideally when it’s not half submerged).

Thinking back I believe I have photographed a wedding in the snow in March before with Paul and Amandas wedding at Kingston Country Courtyard. I’ll have to share those photographs soon too!

Sandbanks Hotel Dorset Wedding Photography – Glamourious 50’s styled wedding – Tom and Tania

Sandbanks Hotel Dorset Wedding Photography – Glamourius 50’s styled wedding at the Sandbanks Hotel Dorset – Tom and Tania

Today saw the glorious and glamourious Sandbanks Hotel wedding of Tania and Tom. It was everything I’d imaging from this young and beautiful couple. Highly Styled, swish, full of beautiful people. Of course that made me feel right at home! hahahaha 🙂 The Staff at the Sandbanks Hotel were great and make a mean bacon burger which was awesome. There is also a wide range of Rekorderlig ciders too should you so wish. Of course we ran an awesome photobooth too which went down a storm. I really don’t know where to start with the start to the end all being at the Sandbanks Hotel so although we had some dodgy weather forecast it ended up being great. We managed to go on the beach, with not only Tom and Tania but also the whole wedding party, so we got some awesome images too! Well I’ll not talk too much about the glorious-ness of the whole day but instead I will leave you with one picture as this is only a sneak peek and not a full story of the day (at the danger of repeating myself otherwise).

Of course if you are thinking of getting married at The Sandbanks Hotel or any of the FJB hotel chain then please let me know as I love photographing in this part of the world! Please get it touch using my contact form.

This weekend I get the pleasure of photographing Tania and Tom’s awesome themed wedding at the salubrious Sandbanks hotel. I’ve photographed Tania many times before from when I used to organise Strobist meet-ups (these are photographer get togethers where we shoot with small flashes for run!).
Unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to meet up before the wedding to do a proper engagement shoot that I could share – so I thought I’d share these couple from a shoot in a museum!

See you Saturday!

If you’re getting married at the sandbanks hotel then please let me know if you’d like a quote.

Trash your Wedding Dress with Awesome Dorset Wedding Photography

Trash your Wedding Dress with Awesome Dorset Wedding Photography

What a strange title you might think! Why would I want to trash my lovely wedding dress in Dorset or any other county for that matter? Well simply it’s a great way to wear your wedding dress again and get some awesome fun photographs of you wearing it in a different location from where you’ve worn it before. So say you got married in the city and would LOVE some wedding dress photographs of you on the beach? or you got married on the beach and would love some photographs of you in a river in the New forest. Well this is your chance. In fact anything that would maybe not be possible on your wedding day in your wedding dress you can do with a post wedding or trash the dress photoshoot. I’ve done post wedding shoots at the beach, in rivers, on trains, in supermarkets. So many bizarre locations. In fact the more unique the better as you are then getting some more use from your wedding dress and some great images. Maybe it was very very rainy on your wedding day? Well we can arrange a photoshoot for when it’s sunny any warm and you can get those photographs you always wanted on your wedding day but wasn’t possible. As you can see the possibilities are endless for your trash the dress shoot, sometimes called cherish the dress. Anything where you get dressed up again. Of course you can always bring your fashion accessory husband along if you’d like him in the photographs too!

Prices for Trash the dress photoshoots start from as little at £150 so please get in touch to avoid disappointment as my time is of course limited (until we discover cloning and time machines at least – though that of course never ends well).

Here’s a few images to get you thinking about what you could do!
