Hello! I’m Greg Thurtle, a contemporary wedding photographer based in Yeovil, right on the beautiful Somerset and Dorset border.

I’m very much a family man, and when I’m not behind the camera, I love spending time with my wonderful wife, Kat, and my two amazing children, Violet and Joseph. While I’m firmly settled here in the South West, I’m a Northerner at heart with roots stretching back up to Sheffield—which means I will always appreciate a proper chip butty!

My approach to wedding photography is all about capturing the genuine joy of your day through modern reportage, blended with beautiful, natural portraits. I know that the last thing you want on your wedding day is to spend hours holding stiff poses or being told to force a smile. My goal is to be as unobtrusive as possible, bringing a calm, easy-going energy to the day. With an engineer’s eye for detail and logistics behind the scenes, I make sure everything runs seamlessly so you can simply focus on having fun and enjoying the moment.

I believe strongly that love is love, and that everyone deserves to feel completely comfortable on their big day. I am proudly LGBTQ+ friendly and SEN (Special Educational Needs) friendly, and I always adapt my approach to ensure you and your guests feel supported, relaxed, and at ease.

To help shake off any camera nerves before the wedding, my packages include a complimentary Engagement Portrait Session. We’ll head out to some of my favorite “secret” locations across Dorset and Hampshire. These sessions are incredibly relaxed and a lot of fun. It’s a great way for us to get to know each other so that when your wedding day arrives, the photography feels completely natural and effortless.

I have been lucky enough to photograph weddings all over the country—from Somerset, Dorset, Devon, and Hampshire, all the way up to the Peak District and beyond.
